We are a group of Tenors, proud Australians, who wish to bring quality vocal productions to audiences across the whole of Australia and eventually export ourselves overseas, retaining Australia as our base and major performance region.
While we will naturally perform songs, opera, operetta and music from musicals, our primary aim is to help bring the vast array of Australian music and songs to our audiences.
TenOrZ Downunder has a mission to be a true Australia-wide touring group, taking in many outback locations as well as the major cities, from Sydney to Perth and Hobart to Darwin.
TenOrZ Downunder is Stuart Kemp, David Haydon and Thomas Strong. We are all Principal Tenors in our own right and together combine some 90 plus years of vocal experience in the industry. We have all experienced the International Opera scene and have performed extensively throughout Europe and the UK in many capacities – from singing Principal roles in Opera to soloists in many oratorio and concerts.

David was born in Sydney and spent his later formative years living in Nowra during the 1970’s and 80’s. His early classical piano and musical training, and associations during his teen years with musically talented colleagues and friends, kept David drawn to musical performance endeavours and projects. He sang in rock bands on the NSW South Coast and later participated in regional musical and theatre productions in lead and ensemble roles.
David had a long association with the successful and long running Bounty Theatre Restaurant at Bomaderry NSW, initially as a performer and with later opportunities to produce and direct.
David furthered his acting and singing career in 1994 with a Creative Arts Degree in Theatre from Wollongong University studying under Jeff Kevin, Janyce Hayes, John Senzuk and William Moxey. While at university David was afforded the opportunity to audition for the then Australian Opera with Richard Gill and went on to participate in many Australian Opera and OA productions up until 2004.
David’s acting career led to opportunities to participate in Australian and international movies, television commercials and soapies.
David was a foundation cast member of the still on-going internationally successful corporate act "The Three Waiters". Much of David’s career from 1997 to 2004 was taken up with national and international performances as the original Aussie third waiter.
